Jacob 2
Blessings are special gifts from God, including special things He does for people. Abraham wanted God to bless him with children. God told Abraham that his kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, and everyone else born into his family would number more than the grains of sand by the sea! God has blessings for you, too: healthy days, people to love you, food to eat, pets to love, God’s Word to guide you, life with God forever, and so much more! God gives everyone who believes in Him as many blessings as there are grains of sand on the seashore! And that’s just too many to count. God’s Blessings For Me Are Like The Sand By The Sea

Jacob 2
Esau was furious with Jacob for tricking him. He was so angry he wanted to kill him. So, his mom (Rebekah) helped him run away to his Uncle Laban’s home. Jacob traveled for many miles, because Uncle Laban lived far away.
One night Jacob was lying on the ground using a stone for a pillow. He fell fast asleep. Jacob dreamed of a stairway that reached from earth up to heaven. And he saw angels of God going up and down the stairway. At the top of the stairway stood God and He said, “I am the Lord, the God of your grandfather Abraham, and the God of your father, Isaac. The ground you are lying on belongs to you. I am giving it to you and your descendants. Your descendants will be as numerous as the dust of the earth! They will spread out in all directions. And all the families of the earth will be blessed through you and your descendants. I am with you, and I will protect you wherever you go, I will fulfill ALL My promises to you.” Then Jacob woke up and said, “The Lord is in this place, and I didn’t even know! What an awesome place this is! It is the gateway to heaven!” The next morning Jacob got up and took the stone he had used for a pillow and set it upright as a memorial pillar, and named that place Bethel (which means “house of God”).
All of us are just like Jacob, no matter how badly or how many times we’ve messed up, God does not give up on us and He does not stop loving us. We’ve all made bad choices. Like, when we make fun of someone, when we ignore or disobey our parents, when we lie, when we cheat, when we act selfishly, when we act rudely, those are all bad choices. With God, it’s never too late to be sorry and repent of your sins and change your behavior. God loves us even though we make mistakes. There is nothing we can do that will separate us from God’s love. Our sins are all forgiven by Jesus on the cross.
Clearly Jacob messed up and treated his loved ones badly in his life. Jacob’s mistakes did not take God by surprise, He knew Jacob would fail in the ways he did the whole time, but He still chose to bless Jacob. God has chosen you too and given you so many blessings!
