Manna from Heaven
Can you imagine waking up to a backyard full of FREE frosted flakes every morning? That’s exactly what happened to God’s people in the book of Exodus. Each day, six days a week, for 40 years, all they had to do was roll out of their tents, pile high their cereal bowls, and eat as much manna as they wanted. This all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast is a picture of how God promises to take care of us as we trust Him day by day. Whenever you start your day with cereal flakes of any kind, grin from ear to ear as you remember that God promises to provide everything you need. So don’t moan, groan and be grouchy. Remember, God is Good, God is Great, He Made 40 Years of Frosted Flakes

Manna from Heaven
The Israelites made it! God miraculously parted the waters of the Red Sea! They were able to walk right through the middle of the sea on dry ground. God led them using a cloud and a fire through the hot dry desert called the wilderness. After crossing the Red Sea, they walked for 3 days without finding any water. Then they came to an oasis, but the water was too bitter to drink, so they called the place the oasis of Marah (which means bitter). The people were tired and worried—what would they drink? So Moses cried out to the Lord for help, and the Lord showed him a piece of wood. Moses threw it into the water, and this made the water good to drink.
A couple of months passed, and the Israelites were still wandering through the wilderness desert, and their food supply was running low. They started complaining to Moses saying, “You should have just left us to die in Egypt. At least we had food there. You just brought us out here to starve us all to death!”
Then the Lord said to Moses, “I’m going to rain down food from heaven for you.” In the evening you will have meat to eat, and in the morning, you will have all the bread you want. That evening quail flew into the camp. And the next morning, something amazing happened. The ground was covered with a special food called "manna." It looked like tiny white flakes or seeds and tasted a bit sweet, almost like honey wafers. God gave them manna each day, so they never went hungry. But there were a few special rules too: they were only supposed to collect as much manna as they needed for that day, and on the day before their day of rest, they could gather extra. If anyone tried to keep manna overnight on regular days, it would spoil smelling terrible and be full of maggots!
At the Lord’s command, the Israelites moved from place to place. They moved to a place with no water. Instead of just asking for water, they started complaining to Moses all over again for bringing them out of Egypt just to have them die in the wilderness. The Lord said to Moses, “Strike the rock with your staff, and water will come gushing out.” Moses did as the Lord said, and water did gush out.
· Don’t grumble and complain; instead be thankful
· God can be trusted to provide for your needs
God wants us to come to Him with our requests and to talk to Him in prayer when there are things that we want, but that doesn’t mean that God will always give us exactly what we want, but we can trust that God will give us exactly what He knows we need.
